This week, Nursery Owl's were so excited for our first Christmas Rhythm and Rhyme share. We had a wonderful time with our grown-ups and we are really excited for our next session on Thursday morning! We have been reading 'The First Christmas'. During our Woodland Wednesday session, Dorothy Dragon brought us our own shining stars. We enjoyed choosing our own sticks and leaves to decorate our shining stars.

Year 3 were lucky enough to have a visit from our first Mystery Musician today. A big thank you to Esther who came and spoke to the children about her life at music college and what it's like to play the trombone. We were also treated to some Christmas music on a mini trombone. Please contact the school office if you would like to come and be a Mystery Musician in 2026.

Today, Year 5 had a brilliant visit to Flixton Aviation Museum. They participated in 6 activities which included: experiencing an air raid in an Anderson shelter, exploring the inside of a Valetta (WWII plane), learning to fly in a flight simulator, decoding and encoding and air navigation. The day was a wonderful opportunity to develop the knowledge and understanding of what life was like in WWII, particularly in the local area. The teachers were proud of how the children represented Albert Pye fantastically!

Sporting Success Well done to Elisia who received opposition player of the match from Aylsham FC on Saturday for playing superb and making some brilliant saves. I can tell you had a brilliant match by the amount of mud you got on your kit.

Music Quote of the Week. This week's quote comes from Matilda in Year 2. We were watching and discussing John Cage's experimental 4'33'' and Matilda noticed the following about the piece; 'He uses sounds around him to create the music'​ ​Well done Matilda, I think this is a very observant comment.

What an enjoyable festive outing for Choir today. Members of the Choir from Year 6 and Year 3 represented our school and performed a Christmas concert at 'The Dell House Care Home'. It was wonderful to see the residents joining with us on their favourite Christmas hymns. We hope to be back to perform soon.

Reception had a wonderful time watching the Pantomime at Seagull theatre, we sang, danced and joined in with the festive fun! We also made a large scale map of Beccles for our amazing model houses to go on. The children were very good at knowing and describing where they live in relation to Beccles land marks.

Year 3 enjoyed studing the work of Henri Matisse in Art. Today we worked together to create a group collage inspired by 'Le Ciel' and 'La Mer'.

Year 1 worked hard this afternoon to create delicious fruit salads as part of their DT. They followed their designs, chopped the fruit carefully and enjoyed eating the final product!

Another busy week in Year 4 but we ended with an energy boost when we got to eat the crumble we made this morning. The topping was not quite as crumbly as it perhaps should have been but it was still delicious!

Year 3 had a brilliant Egyptian day today in school where we all dressed up as Ancient Egyptians. We worked in teams to build a shaduf to get water out of the Nile then we used real papyrus to create our own cartouches using hieroglyphics. We were risk takers when we tasted new Egyptian foods and we ended the day with a lively debate about whether Howard Carter should have removed objects from Tutankhamun's tomb or not. Our oracy skills were impressive as we listen carefully to others points of view.

We are so proud of Valentino in Year Three today who came to school dressed in his traditional Albanian costume and proudly talked to the class about his culture and heritage.

Nursery Owls had a wonderful time at the panto today, we met Santa and his elves. We even saw Rudolph! We laughed a lot and sang along to the songs.

Yesterday, some of our Y3 pupils took part in the North Suffolk Sport & Health Partnership Tennis Festival. They had a great time learning new skills including trying out some pickleball. The children's behaviour was outstanding with everyone giving every activity a go.
